These classic cucumber pickles get their tangy flavor through good old-fashioned lacto-fermentation!ย Once we submerged the cucumbers in the saltwater brine along with an array of herbs and spices, then we let the fermentation begin!ย ย As the microbes eat the natural sugars in the cucumbers, they'll produce lactic acid.ย This will make the pickles nice and sourย and extend their shelf life as well.ย ย
How Fermentation Works
