No more shopping and spending hundreds of dollars at the mall for your skincare products because what you need is actually an inexpensive miracle cleanser that's been sitting in your kitchen pantry all this time!
What Is It?
It's HONEY! Honey mixed together with baking soda can give you an amazing exfoliating mask that is also hydrates your skin as well!
Why honey and baking soda?
- Honey is natural antiseptic which soothes and heals your skin, especially fighting acnes caused by bacterial infection. It is loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, providing all kinds of nutrients that your skin needs. It is also a natural moisturizer which soothes dry, irritated, and sensitive areas to prevent wrinkles formation. And it absorbs impurities from the pores without stripping the natural oils to maintain the natural pollution and bacteria defense.
- Baking soda is a gentle exfoliant and helps remove dead skin cells without causing too much irritation but it can be mildly drying so it's a good combination to use with moisturizing honey as a face wash or mask.
**Baking soda is generally safe but it can cause irritation in some people. Therefore, it is a good idea to do a patch test first to see how your skin takes it. Also, don’t apply baking soda to broken skin!
- 1 tsp raw honey (look for "unpasteurized" on the label, Organic honey will do)
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Put honey and baking soda in your palm and rub palms together to warm up the honey and work in the baking soda.
Gently apply the honey mixture to your dry face, and massage it in circular motions for about a minute to improve blood circulation and tighten skin.
Leave it on for 15-20 minutes as a mask.
Rinse your face a few times with warm water, or wipe off gently with a warm, wet wash cloth.
There are many organic honey and baking soda products at Foodcraft for you to create your own natural exfoliating scrub!
Most of our honeys are raw and organic, meaning that they are not pasteurized (all the good bacterial enzymes that make honey good for you are retained). This also means that the hives and flowers where the bees collect their nectar from must be free from chemicals and pesticides. And finally, bees cannot be given any antibiotics.
