CLASS DESCRIPTION

Rich in minerals, trace elements, vitamins and fiber, sea vegetables build bones and muscles, nourish the skin and revitalize the body. Sea vegetables are also helpful in treating high blood pressure, arteriosclerosis, rheumatism, allergies, arthritis, and nervous disorders. Because they contain vitamin B12 and iron, sea vegetables are good blood builders. Sea vegetables have a variety of uses in macrobiotic cuisine. From neutral tasting agar-agar, often used in desserts to create that unique jello effect, to umame-rich, sweet and clean tasting hijiki. Sea vegetables not only compliment other dishes but can stand well on their own.
