What is Turmeric Spice Sauerkraut?
Sauerkraut is a shredded fresh cabbage that has been fermented by various lactic acid bacteria, including Leuconostoc, Lactobacillus, and Pediococcus. It has a natural sour flavour which results from the lactic acid that forms when the bacteria ferments the sugars in the cabbage. (no added vinegar!) Our Turmeric Spice Sauerkraut is a spin of our original sauerkraut with added turmeric, cumin powder, ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper, sesame oil and mustard seeds. Every single ingredient we've added are aimed to help you fight inflammation.
Why it’s Good for You:
Our Living Sauerkrat is fermented in a traditional way and package unpasteurized which makes it rich in natural digestive enzymes and living probiotics. It is highly recommended for people who need to nourish their gut. On top of that, the turmeric spice sauerkraut is packed with a great variety of anti inflammatory foods including ginger, garlic, and of course turmeric. These are super protectors which are renowned for their ability in fighting infections and speeding up recovery from cold and flu.
How We Make It:
We make it the traditional way. Shred the fresh cabbage and massage it with Himalayan Crystal Salt and ferment it in a jar for 3 days. After the first fermentation, we let it further ferment in low temperature until it is fully fermented and ready to be consumed.
To be served as a condiment with other foods. Sauerkraut especially goes well with food with high fat content such as meat or nuts and seeds. We recommend to eat with rice or noodles or simply on its own with beer!
