Mozuku Seaweed (Salted) - 500g

You might have eaten seaweed wrapped around your sushi rolls or tossed in your salads, but have you tried this stringy seaweed? This Mozuku seaweed is harvested in the beautiful Japanese island - Ishigaki.  Mozuku seaweed is one of the most famous longevity food products in Japan!

Benefits of Mozuku Sseaweed:

  • Boosts the Immune System
    The slimy surface of Mozuku seaweed is rich in Fucoidan, a substance that is antimicrobial. Research says that it helps to cleanse the intestines and enhance immunity. It also exhibits anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic properties!
  • High in Fiber
    The dietary fibre in Mozuku seaweed improves our intestinal conditions by stimulating our digestive tract.  In other words, it helps flushing out our excessive waste!
  • Promotes Fat Loss
    The seaweed is itself a low calorie food. In addition, a substance called fucoxanthin helps in burning visceral fat as it speeds up metabolism.
  • Improves Blood Circulation
    Vitamin K is essential for healthy blood and Mozuku seaweed has an abundance of it!

Suggested Use:
*Please make sure you remove the salt before cooking.

How to remove the salt from Mozuku:

  1. Prepare a large bowl with fresh water and place the salted Mozuku in the bowl.
  2. Rinse the Mozuku thoroughly and remove the water using a sieve.  Repeat this 3 to 4 times.
  3. This should be suffice, but if you still have a strong salt taste, soak the Mozuku in water for 5 to 10 minutes more.

**Its preserved in salt so you definitely need to remove the salt before using...or it will be waaaay to salty!

    After you remove the salt you can use for making soup, salad, tempura, or flavor it with Tamari soy sauce, coconut sugar and vinegar to eat with rice.  Mozuku goes very well with Tamari soy sauce!
