How It Tastes:
Soft sweetness, slightly heavier than a regular panettone
Why it’s special:
This bread is a baked dessert that is not too sweet. We do not use white sugar, so the sugar content is lower than your traditional baked panettone, but the appearance of the bread looks the same as your regular panettone (on the outside)! Filled with delicious dried fruit for the texture and added natural sweetness.
We use a combination of sourdough (wild yeast) and dry yeast in our recipe. The long fermentation time makes the bread easier for digestion. The flavor and texture is more enjoyable than that of a commercially baked sourdough.
The macro nutrients in the bread (carbohydrates and protein) are broken down into smaller particles for absorption. People with gluten intolerances may find they can consume natural sourdough bread without experiencing discomfort.
How to serve vegan sourdough panettone?
Our Vegan sourdough Panettone can be served in various ways to enhance your enjoyment of this delightful treat. Here are some serving suggestions:
1. Traditional Slices: Cut the Panettone into thick, generous slices and serve it as is. The soft and fluffy texture will be complemented by the delicious flavors of cranberries, raisins, and vanilla. It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with a hot beverage like coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
2. Toasted Panettone: For a slightly different twist, lightly toast the Panettone slices. The toasting process will add a delightful crispness to the outer edges while keeping the inside moist and tender. Serve with a spread of dairy-free butter or your favorite fruit preserves for an extra touch of indulgence. Toasting an inch-thick slice at 180°C for 5 minutes will result in a delicious treat. After toasting, simply serve and enjoy!
3. Panettone French Toast: Transform your Panettone into a delectable breakfast or brunch dish by making French toast. Dip thick slices of Panettone into a mixture of beaten eggs, dairy-free milk, and a dash of cinnamon. Cook them on a griddle or in a skillet until golden brown on both sides.
