What is Sauerkraut?
Sauerkraut is a shredded fresh cabbage that has been fermented by various lactic acid bacteria, including Leuconostoc, Lactobacillus, and Pediococcus. It has a natural sour flavor which result from the lactic acid that forms when the bacteria ferments the sugars in the cabbage. (no added vinegar!)

Our Living Sauerkrat is fermented in a traditional way and package unpasteurized which makes it rich in natural digestive enzymes and living probiotics. It is highly recommended for people who need to nourish their gut.
How we make it:
We make it the traditional way. Shred the fresh cabbage and massage it with Himalayan Crystal Salt and ferment it in a jar for 3 days. After the first fermentation, we let it further ferment in low temperature until its fully fermented and ready to be consumed.
To be served as a condiment with other foods. Sauerkraut especially goes well with food with high fat content such as meat or nuts and seeds. We recommend to eat with a slice of sourdough bread and a slab of almond butter topped with our Living Sauerkraut.
