🛠️ How to Use & Precautions
- Simple Setup: After opening, give the iron egg a quick rinse and bury it directly into your active nukadoko bed – or simply drop it into pots, kettles, or pickle containers for easy iron infusion!
- Daily Maintenance: Stir the nukadoko bed regularly every day for best results.
- After Using: Do not leave the iron egg in water after boiling, as it can rust. Please remove it from the pot or kettle once you're finished with the boiling.
- To Avoid Scratches: When boiling water, keep the iron egg in a teabag or cloth bag to prevent scratches in the pot or kettle from the iron egg.
- For Nukazuke Use: Once your nukazuke eggplants are releasing a beautiful blue/purple color, you can remove the iron egg.
- Product Notes: This product is designed to release iron into water or nuka. The cast iron is not coated or treated with anything – it's raw iron. If it gets rusty, simply use a brush to remove the rust. The iron particles from this product are not harmful to our bodies. (If you have existing health issues, please consult a healthcare practitioner before using this product.)
- Moisture Management: If the bed gets too moist inside, remove the egg and add more dry nuka to let the nukadoko dry out before reinserting.
- Safety First: This is metal and can get hot if used while cooking beans or boiling water. Be cautious of burns during use – handle with care.
