Organic Short Grain White Rice "Yume Pirika" - 1kg
This Yumepirika brand white rice is organically grown in Hidaka town, Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan.
It is the most famous Hokkaido brand of rice and know for its chewy but soft texture. There's a mild sweetness taste and people love to compliment seafood with this grain!
Our rice has the date of mill on the bag to ensure the freshness of the rice. In Japan, milling dates are printed on the package so you know how when the rice was milled. The taste and smell of the rice grains start to degrade as soon as they are milled due to oxidation.
We now have freshly-milled, high-quality rice here in Hong Kong!
Ingredients: Brown Sushi Rice from Hokkaido (Yume Pirika brand short grain rice)
How to Cook:
(Serves 2 bowls of rice)
300 g (360 ml), white sushi rice
450 g, (450 ml) filtered water
- If you are using a rice cooker with the water guidelines on it, you can follow the"white rice" water line.
- Pour water up to the line and let it soak for 30 (summer) to 60 (winter) minutes. By allowing the rice to soak for a sufficient time, the result after cooking will be puffier and better.
- After soaking, press the "cook" button and cook as usual. Serve hot! (But... letting it cool and having cold rice or even serve as an "Onigiri" rice ball is nice too! )
