How to Cook?
Mix with your everyday white rice to add more nutritional value.
If it's your first time, use 30 - 50g of the glutenous barley for 150g of white rice.
- Rince off the glutenous barley and soak for 30 to 60 minutes. Drain off the water.
- Mix with soaked white rice and cook as usual. ( no need to add extra water)
If cooking just the glutenous barley, prepare 150g for 2 servings.
- Rince off the glutenous barley and soak for 30 to 60 minutes. Drain off the water.
- Add 300g water to the soaked glutenous barley and cook in a rice cooker. ( Same as cooking white rice)
Why Glutinous Barley?
Glutenous barley is a rare grain and made is very small quantities in a family farm. The dietary fiber is about 5 times that of sweet potatoes and about 10 times that of white rice.
