Please store at 4°C at all times and to enjoy the freshness please consume within 10 days from production. If you see any dark spots, please remove before consuming. 

**Notice Dark Grey Spots on Your Tempeh?**
If you some dark spots, on your tempeh, don't panic!!  That is a completely normal.  Some people often mistaken this for mould but those dark patches are actually spores that indicate the fermentation process is complete.  If you want more information about how tempeh ferments, please click here

Tempeh is a traditional Indonesian fermented product. We made our original tempeh with organic mung beans instead of soybeans. Mung bean tempeh does have a different flavor and texture compared to soybean tempeh. Compare to soy bean tempeh, mung bean tempeh is much lighter and refreshing.

It is an acquired taste but once you start to like it you can get addicted to it - just like every other fermented foods!

Why it's good for you
Tempeh is made from whole beans. Therefore there will be a higher content of protein, fiber and vitamins compared to tofu. Tempeh is a good source of vegan protein and also the fermentation process makes the legumes easier to digest and absorb the micro and macro nutrients. 

Suggested use
It is possible to eat tempeh as it is as the beans are cooked before being fermented. But it will definitely taste better when cooked. 

Pan-fired with healthy oils with high smoke point (sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil ghee or even cacao butter!) till it gains a nice crispy texture and a golden color then add a dash of seasoning with tamari soy sauce or coconut aminos. Or just a sprinkle of salt and pepper makes a great add on to your salad or wraps.

Oven baked with root vegetables with a dash of olive oil can not only be tasty but also an additional protein boost to your meal.

You can safely replace soy tempeh with mung bean tempeh for most recipes.
